LG Revives Wallpaper TV with a Brighter, More Advanced Display
After
a long hiatus, LG is bringing back its iconic “Wallpaper TV” concept,
introducing a significantly upgraded model with enhanced brightness and color
performance. The company has announced that the LG W6 Wallpaper OLED
TV will be showcased at the Consumer Electronics
Show (CES), which begins this Tuesday in Las
Vegas, USA.
The
new Wallpaper OLED TV is designed with an ultra-thin profile,
allowing it to sit almost completely flush against the wall. With a thickness
of just 9
millimeters, the W6 model delivers a sleek, picture-frame-like
appearance that blends seamlessly into modern interiors. Compared to previous
generations, LG has made substantial improvements in brightness
and color accuracy, making the display more vibrant than ever.
According to LG, the W6 uses an updated 4K
OLED panel that can produce nearly four times higher
brightness than the company’s conventional OLED displays. To
achieve this, LG has integrated its advanced Brightness Booster
Ultra and Hyper Radiant Color
technologies. These innovations enhance highlight clarity while preserving deep
contrast levels, resulting in richer colors and more lifelike visuals—even in
brightly lit environments.
Special attention has also been given to reducing screen
reflections. LG states that the W6 features a new “Reflection-Free”
coating, which offers the lowest light reflection ever seen on
an LG television. This makes the screen easier to view in rooms with strong
ambient lighting, a common challenge for OLED TVs.
The LG W6 Wallpaper OLED TV
will be available in 77-inch and 83-inch
screen sizes. It comes with a separate wireless connection box
where all input devices can be connected. This box can be placed up to 30
feet away from the display, significantly reducing cable
clutter and making wall installation cleaner and more elegant. However, the TV
screen itself still requires a direct power connection to operate.
LG has also incorporated a range of AI-powered
features into the W6 model, enabling users to control settings
more intuitively and personalize their viewing experience. Improvements to the
mounting system allow the TV to attach even more closely to the wall, enhancing
its minimalist design and making it resemble a framed piece of artwork.
The LG W6 Wallpaper OLED TV is expected to
launch globally by the end of this year, positioning it as one
of the most premium and visually striking OLED TVs of 2026.
